Salsa classes are grouped and timed as follows. If you are unsure which is the most appropriate group for you, call Salsa Gill for further information
At Salsa Gill's salsa classes, we are always pleased to welcome new class members. Even if you have never danced before, by the end of your first salsa lesson you will be able to do at least two or three salsa steps (and hopefully you will want to practice before coming to your next class!) In practice, some of our absolute beginners stay on to watch the next level and if you have done some dance before, the chances are that you will soon be joining in!
The "absolute beginners" class allows us to concentrate on our new starters and ensure that they are mastering the basic salsa steps that will allow them to very quickly progress to the Beginners Level 1 Class basic steps>>
Level 1 dancers will begin to learn more steps, leading and following, both for Cuban and LA style as well as some La Rueda steps. From Level 1 onwards, dancers will be encouraged to attend some of the fantastic salsa socials available in our local area. Level 1 steps >>
Level 2 dancers will learn the same or very similar steps to Level 1 dancers, but the emphasis will be on salsa style and "attitude" in the dance. We are particularly fond of both Cuban style and La Rueda in our classes and these allow our Level 2 dancers to "embellish" and "posture" in true cuban style! Level 2 steps >>
If you are an improver or an intermediate dancer, you will love this class! The aim of the class is to be an reach the level of "accomplished" and "confident" social dancer, either leading or following. more advanced steps >>
